Riot Games’ promised Yoru overhaul has arrived, and Valorant Episode 4 Act 2 kicks off with a series of patch notes you won’t want to miss. The 4.04 update patch notes also include major changes to Icebox and a decent amount of bugs, as well as changes to Omen, Brimstone, Astra, and Viper.
Fans have been waiting for Valorant’s remake of Yoru for a while, and it looks like not much has changed since Riot first mentioned it in December. The fake trap reacts when hit and can now fool opponents with a fake teleport signal. Additionally, Yoru’s Dimensional Drift changes announced last month also made a difference. We can say that Yoru players will cause much more disruption and confusion in the future.
These changes will certainly replace Yoru in our Valorant tier list, but they aren’t the only things players need to watch out for. Omen and Brimstone have been tweaked slightly, Omen’s Shrouded Step and Brimstone’s Sky Smoke have received minor improvements.
However, Viper and Astra are subject to bigger changes. Astra abilities have been fixed with Nebula’s significant growth, but cooldowns are nearly doubled. Viper’s cooldown for Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud is also supplemented with new indicators that make it clear that each skill is on cooldown.
The meta may seem to be changing, but Valorant players will also have to get used to a major map overhaul in this update. The 4.04 patch notes also detail several changes to Icebox, including the area of the map around Site B.
Riot Games explained that these changes were made to improve attacker options and put a new emphasis on B-Site control, making combat in surrounding areas a bit more manageable. You can find the full list of changes in our Valorant patch notes guide.
With a slew of bug fixes rounding out a major update, Valorant players will have a lot of new information to deal with when Valorant Episode 4 Act 2 releases on March 2. It’s time to get an idea of the ranks of Valorant.
