Fortnite Fireworks Mark Gun has arrived just in time for the 4th of July

If you’re looking forward to Independence Day (the USA Day, not the movie), you’re in luck, if you still love Epic Games’ battle royale shooter. Building on the “good vibes season”, Fortnite’s Flare Gun has undergone a minor change ahead of the 4th of July celebration. Fortnite players can now own the Firework Flare Gun, described by Epic Games as a “talented Flare Gun”.

If you’re wondering what sets this Firework Flare Gun apart from the Flare Gun that Fortnite players know and love, it’s actually quite simple: the Firework Flare Gun shoots fireworks instead of flares. We know it goes without saying, but Epic Games likes it simple, right?

The warped firestarters among you will be happy to know that this weapon will continue to bring heat to any conflict you engage in. Just because the Fireworks Gun no longer fires flares doesn’t mean it won’t start fires and burn down buildings. Epic Games confirmed that “wherever the pyrotechnic bomb explodes, it ignites, triggering the start of a spreading fire.”

At this point, without saying anything else, it’s safe to assume that the radiant flame fired from the Firecracker Gun will behave the same as when using a standard Flare Gun. Similarly, expect this weapon to deal the same amount of damage to enemies and structures for now.

As always, the Fireworks Flare Gun will be available as floor loot, in loot boxes, and by opening supply drops. There’s no mention of this weapon being available from NPCs, but based on how long this weapon has been used, we wouldn’t be surprised if something like this happens in the future. It’s also worth noting that, as expected, the Firework Flare Gun is not available on competing playlists. We don’t expect that to change anytime soon.

The Fortnite v21.10 update also introduced the Ripsaw Launcher to the game’s loot pool, causing the week starting June 28 to be renamed Ripsaw Launcher Week. This means that this weapon is more accessible than usual. If Epic Games’ Battle Royale isn’t your cup of Slurp, here are some of the best free shooters out there.
