With patch 0.12.12.30, it’s time to drop a new Escape From Tarkov, giving players a clean slate for the months to come. Along with the cleanup, there’s also a slew of new content, including a map expansion, new weapons, and three new bosses that will literally team up to take you down.
As teased earlier this year, Knight, Birdeye, and Big Pipe (stop laughing behind the scenes) are the names of the three big bad guys coming to Tarkov, but they’ll act differently from the bosses before them. This strange trio will be the first roaming bosses in the game and can spawn in a variety of locations. Moreover, they will get together and make plans to take you down.
According to the Escape From Tarkov patch notes for this wipe out update: “Bosses interact with each other and other Rogues, but they don’t stay together and instead maintain positioning distances. When an enemy is dispatched by one of the bosses or villains, everyone is radioed to the enemy’s position, and the bosses prepare for battle and take up tactical positions for the fight.
Plus, it’s clear that this trio has something for everyone at Tarkov. Whichever side you are on, these powers will attack you. They don’t communicate with any of the other bosses, so they gladly open fire on anyone who gets in their way.
You can encounter Knight, Birdeye, or Big Pipe in the Lighthouse, Beach, Forest, and Customs areas. There’s no set time frame or cadence for when these bosses will spawn in each location, so there’s an element of surprise every time you enter one of these areas.
In addition to new bosses, this removal adds a few new weapons to Escape From Tarkov, as well as a flare gun that can be used to summon airdrops.
As with any Tarkov update, there are also a number of improvements, bug fixes and animation updates for Escape From Tarkov, the full patch notes of which you can check out here.
