If you’ve recently tried to hit someone in a Halo game, you’ll notice that the old Halo Infinite desync issue, which particularly affects melee combat, is still an issue in multiplayer. According to 343 Industries, the reason this hasn’t been fixed is because the team is “dedicated to a myriad of other jobs.”
Halo Infinite Season 2 kicked off in May, and Microsoft’s flagship FPS game is soon getting a host of exciting additions, like Forge mode and a co-op campaign. However, one issue that has plagued multiplayer since its launch is a network desync issue that interferes with hit registration, especially on melee attacks, which are the best part of Halo.
Considering the variety of issues Season 2 began with, it’s a bit surprising that this well-documented issue has yet to be resolved. In a new comment on Reddit, Halo Infinite developer 343_Taxi explains that “the lack of UCN (network) improvements” is because “the developers who will be working on these fixes have been assigned to other Infinite work.”
Regardless of what they were working on, the team’s work brought “some added value to our UCN solution” involving players, vehicles and objects, but “not melee and ‘around the wall,’ which has yet to be addressed.” “.
343_Taxi says that these developers “hope” to get back to work on the fix soon, and that “fixing” it is “our priority.”
Elsewhere in Halo Infinite news, Chapter 343 had to apologize for the “offensive” sign that appeared around June 10, with players flocking to non-toxic and “low sodium” forums. Still, at least everyone enjoyed the Halo TV show, right? … Correct?
