Fortress: Warlords haven’t had one of the series’ gems since March last year, but the castle building and management in East Asia didn’t turn out to be the worst. However, at FireFly Studios they continue to work on the next episode.
The unnamed Stronghold is in pre-production and is being built in Unreal Engine 5. Thus, the developers abandoned their own Vision Engine technology and intend to build a real-time strategy from an isometric point of view on modern technology from Epic Games.

The creators promise the characteristic atmosphere of Stronghold and suggest that this time we could be in charge of managing the fleet, if such a mechanism fits into the rest of the game. The main focus will continue to be on build your own fortressits defense and attack on foreign forts.
As for the future of Stronghold, the team likes it fantastic atmosphere. It is possible that one day another spin-off will be released. But it probably also depends on the idea of Devolver Digital buying FireFly Studios late last year.
A new Stronghold could come out in about three years.
