Creative Assembly has revealed the system requirements for Hyenas ahead of the closed alpha release, including minimum and recommended requirements. While the game looks bold when it comes to GPU VRAM, the developer says it’s working hard to optimize the gaming experience, so don’t give up on your old gaming PC just yet.
According to System Requirements For Hyena, you will need a GPU with at least 5 GB of VRAM to run the dystopian FPS game. Although the Creative Assembly doesn’t list specific models, the developer recommends using something on par with an Nvidia GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon 5600 XT. Fortunately, the futuristic heist experience doesn’t require a better gaming CPU, the alpha should work just fine with something newer than a 6th Gen Intel CPU.
Unfortunately, Hyenas alpha consumes a lot of power when it comes to game RAM as it will need more than 10GB to boot. 16GB is recommended, but if you want to meet gaming demands on the cheap, adding an extra DIMM key to your 8GB setup should suffice.
If you are using an older installation, you may want to wait before trying Hyenas alpha. Creative Assembly’s FAQ states that “if your PC is over 5 years old, it probably won’t be able to run Hyenas”, a rule of thumb that can rule out even more expensive and cheaper builds.
