Resident Evil 7 received a new mod that transforms the visuals of Capcom’s brutal survival horror by upscaling more than 1,000 textures to 4K quality, allowing you to play in virtual reality, with and without in-game ray tracing.
Ashok’s Premium 4K Texture Pack, available now on Nexus Mods, transforms exactly 1,497 textures in Resident Evil 7, transforming the dark and grungy Baker Manor into a detailed and even more exciting new world. There are cracks and chips in the wood paneling, rust stains on the metal, and all the other unsightly details like dangling fingernails, occasional bloodstains, and crawling black mold pop up on the screen with added gloss.
All textures that were already 4K in the base game remain intact, as do various detailed elements such as patterned rugs and delicate lettering. However, all 1K and 2K textures from Resident Evil 7 have been remastered and the mod is compatible with both DX11 and DX12 versions of the game. If you don’t like the ray tracing added in the recent update, you can always use this free texture pack. .
You also have options when it comes to the scope of the mod. Ashok released two versions, “Full” upscales all 1K or 2K to 4K, while “Lite” only upscales 1K textures, so if you want to keep some of the original footage but with some adjustments, this is the option for you. you.
This is a great mod, especially with Resident Evil 7’s VR support – playing with a headset makes it easy to appreciate the extra level of detail and how it makes RE7’s ramshackle houses, gardens and shacks look more real and terrifying.
