Gamers have spotted the adorable Starfield Easter egg hidden in the Xbox Showcase gameplay trailer. The mythical and ubiquitous Starfield sandwich that looked so chewy and delicious in the previous E3 2021 trailer appears in an image from a new reveal, surely it must be intentional?
Since the release of Starfield’s extended gameplay trailer, there have been all sorts of details for all to see, such as photo mode confirmation, every weapon that has an ammo meter in-universe, and even early issues.
This clip from Reddit user OdahP might top them all, as one image from the trailer appears to show the iconic Starfield sandwich. The well-rendered cheese sandwich from the previous trailer got so much attention that people recreated the recipe in real life, even asking Bethesda boss Todd Howard, who confirmed that the team had “spent much Time for that cheese sandwich. He even used the term “space cheese” which we like.
The sandwich appears in the new trailer when customizing the ship. The ship’s cabin has an open hatch that reveals several crates, and when this section is moved, you can very briefly see an Easter Egg Sandwich (or rather an Easter Cheese Sandwich) on the flat surface behind it. Despite the lack of a plate, it is clearly the same sandwich as it has the exact same bite mark on the corner.

Look for him around 10:32 in the trailer below. You’ll probably have to put it in 4K and quickly hit the pause button, as it only appears to be in one frame, lending credence to the idea that this is an intentional easter egg from Bethesda. We can certainly understand why no one noticed this earlier.
Are there any other amazing Easter Eggs in the world in the Starfield trailer? We just have to wait and see.
The downside to all these details is that Starfield lacks continuous ship-to-ship space travel, which makes me very frustrated. The sandwiches will help me deal with that though.
