The gaming peripherals market is increasingly focusing on specialization to meet the specific needs of users, and new gaming mouse produced by Razer can rely on at least two features that are often hard to find on the same device: wireless but at the same time ultra lightwith 58 grams.
Since it has an apparently inconsistent and “plastic” structure, it does not succumb to the temptation to adopt the honeycomb design and instead opts for different and very interesting solutions: the Californian company’s mouse actually has excellent components under the body, but this is expensive, especially on the official website You pay €159.99 or even €200 on Amazon.
What consequences does the combination of all these aspects produce? we reveal to you. Razer Viper V2 Pro review.
Technicial Specifications
Razer Viper V2 Pro is a wireless gaming mouse. 2.4GHz RF transmission technology Given the presence of two classic extra buttons, which are characterized by a symmetrical design, but located only on the left side of the device, only through the USB adapter, which can be used with two hands, apparently. Surprisingly there is no RGB lighting system and this selection shows the very concrete approach of the product.
The goal of Razer designers is indeed a extremely low weight, which, as stated, equates to just 58 grams: just over the 53 grams mentioned in the Cooler Master MM710 review, but it’s a wired mouse so it doesn’t have a built-in battery and also has a punch-hole design. In short, we are on a very different level, the result of precise study and technology that is drastically different from that seen in the environment.
It is therefore not surprising that the Viper V2 Pro is equipped with the following. optical switches On paper, the third generation is designed to deliver up to 90 million clicks, replacing traditional mechanical switches with lower latency and greater reliability. The Focus Pro optical sensor reaches 30,000 DPI, guaranteeing absolute precision: a small light located under the slider allows you to control the active preset, but to change the value you have to press a button located under the mouse: a very practical solution.
Related internal battery, the declared autonomy reaches 70 hours, but a charging station is not included in the package: considering the price, this is not an indifferent shortcoming. Instead, we find a paracord cable with USB-A and USB-C terminals, which can be connected to a small adapter to allow a quick transition from wireless to wired connection if necessary.

Design
by turning designThe Razer Viper V2 Pro adopts simple solutions, but there is a connection between the back area and home buttons and a device that modern and aggressive cut; very nice. completely black colormouse as specified Lacks RGB lightingAdded to the list of features that are obviously not a problem but are missing considering an affordable price.
Once gripped, the Viper V2 Pro inevitably conveys a sense of “plasticity” and indeed the thin plastics are adept at even the wheel, so it’s a little “cheap” in sliding with no weight. The skins look the same, but in reality there are some differences that can be changed by applying replaceable sticky rubber grips between the palm, fingers and side areas. As mentioned several times, the weight is 58 grams and the dimensions are 126.7 x 57.6 x 37.8 mm.
user experience
Our experience with the Razer Viper V2 Pro took several days between standard use and gaming. In the first case, the device is always output very accurate and reliable, with a weight factor that represents a significant advantage in terms of long-term comfort. The click feel was good, the scroll wheel in web browsing didn’t impress us.
In games (Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone, mainly, with a few trips to DOOM Eternal) the mouse behaves very similarly to other devices with only two extra buttons, so it is not suitable for MMO or MOBA and is more focused. shooters, who knows how many inputs you don’t need.
Does the Viper V2 Pro take off on fast lateral movements? This is what we feared given the extreme lightness and lack of aerodynamic adjustment, but in reality it almost never happened: thanks to the solutions the designers adopted in terms of design and lateral grip.
