Minecraft is an amazing sandbox game that allows players to do just about anything they can imagine. This is just the base game; When you start exploring the world of Minecraft mods, it becomes even more fantastic, as this Mario Kart mod shows. You can make minor tweaks to the game like riding a ghost, make visual adjustments like turning mobs into Lego minifigures, or even make the game completely new by changing the way bosses work.

Thanks to the new mod, you can now also play Mario Karts in Minecraft. Cirelectric, who also created the aforementioned Lego mod, is back on Reddit with their “Standard Kart Resource Pack” released. It’s based on Mario Kart, which is pretty obvious, but it has a few key differences that make the game interesting.

Our favorite little trick is that if you land in the water, a propeller will appear on the back of your car to help your kart move. It’s a nice little detail that helps make everything more believable, and it also means that if you’re the kind of person who likes to design race tracks, this pack will let you turn them into amphibious race tracks.

You can download the Curseforge mod where Cirelectric explains what kind of wood the cards were made from and which characters the different cards refer to. He even explains that the steering wheel, wheels, and brakes all work. It should be a great little addition to multiplayer sessions, or just a new way to get around the world if you’re bored of walking around.
