In the latest dev diary, Relic released a brand new RTS destruction system. Company of Heroes 3. they will demolish bell towers, smash buildings and radically change the military landscape to a scale that has not yet been in RTS.
“I have a feeling that there will be a lot of people who will take a tactical break during the game, just to rotate the screen a bit and take the opportunity to see all the destruction and all their splendor in one shot.” thinks Jason Brackman, lead technical artist at Relic Studio.
What are the details of environmental destruction in Company of Heroes 3? Falling debris and collapsing buildings can now actually damage nearby units.. Destroyed buildings can also provide new tactical advantages, including cover. Players can even destroy the map in advance with tactical bombardment.which further changes the strategy and options on the battlefield.
