In May of this year, Sony announced plans to film the God of War, Horizon and Gran Turismo series of games. Just a movie based on the last mentioned brand now it gets more realistic contourswith which, as with the original information, comes the Deadline magazine.
Film director Neil Blomkampwhich has movies like “Demonic”, “Chappie”, “Elysium” or “District 9”. He was in charge of the script Jason Hall (American sniper). In addition to Sony itself, Columbia Pictures also participates in the project. The premiere date has been set for August 11, 2023.
The plot of the film must be based on true story of a teenager playing Gran Turismawho, thanks to his gaming skills, will become a professional racer.
Therefore, it is clear from the topic that the film inspire a real GT Academy program, whose Gran Turisma winners were given the opportunity to compete for the Nissan factory team. We don’t know yet if the film will be inspired only by this theme or if it will fit more into the documentary format.
