Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is coming to an end, and its next DLC marks the end of Eivor’s story. Yes, after nearly two years of hacking, hacking, and looting, Ubisoft’s long-running open-world Viking game will end in late 2022, with players getting the final chapter for free.
Our burly Scandinavian heroes have come a long way since the original Valhalla in 2020, followed by Wrath of the Druids, Siege of Paris, and most recently the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC in March. However, Ubisoft is looking ahead to the next era of Assassin’s Creed: In a live stream celebrating the series’ 15th anniversary, the developer explains that a “very special event” will reveal “the future of Assassin’s Creed” in September. , probably marking the ad. upcoming games, as well as “the latest installment in the Eivor story.”
However, we hope that this final free chapter will serve as a fitting end to our beloved Norse warrior. No specific release date has been set, but we’re hoping Eivor’s final performance will focus on his final exploits, possibly set in Vinland, the Viking name for the North American coastline.
But just because his story is coming to an end doesn’t mean Eivor has stopped swinging his ax and slaying demons. In the same live stream, Ubisoft announced The Forgotten Saga, an additional rogue-like experience for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that sees Eivor descend into Viking hell to face death itself.
There are also rumors of a new standalone game based on Basim, a sage Eivor meets in England. This game, called Rift, will take place in the city of Baghdad, and instead of being completely open world, it will be more linear and offline, also focusing heavily on stealth gameplay. It’s supposed to be released later this year or early 2023. We’re hoping to find out for sure, along with more details on the future of Assassin’s Creed in September.
