On Sunday evening, Microsoft infographics told us something that not only STALKER fans have been counting on for some time now – a full-fledged sequel called STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl we won’t see this year because development in the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World was significantly affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.

One the studio has now officially confirmed the postponement of the game to 2023 and the mystery trailer happened too. He encourages entry into the Chernobyl zone while he can be in it. a little more references to real events of the distant and unpleasantly fresh past than it seems at first glance (see above). The developers also officially confirmed the move to the Czech Republic and so on. now they work from Kyiv and Praguewhere most of the development takes place.
However, some employees of GSC Game World continue to defend their country. in front of the Russian occupiers, which reminds us not only of the press release, but also of the recent development diary. In it, footage from the standard development of STALKER 2 quickly alternates views of the devastation in Ukraine and difficult conditions in which some creators still live as a result of Russian war crimes and targeted killings of civilians. The dev diary also features devs who are now up in arms defending Ukraine, although some were unable to appear in the video due to security concerns.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will come out during 2023 (Microsoft announced in the first half of 2023) on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be available in the Game Pass menu from the day of release and will include Czech subtitles.
