The Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak free demo will launch on June 14, giving hunters the opportunity to explore one of the expansion’s new regions and take on some of the RPG’s fierce monsters. Capcom announced the demo during Capcom Showcase 2022, where it revealed the jungle region where the demo takes place.

The Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak jungle returns from the second generation of the franchise, redesigned with a new local life and other changes, including changing environments depending on the time of day. Expect plenty of opportunities to show off Sunbreak’s new abilities here.

Capcom also introduced some massive monsters that you can go toe to toe with. One of them is Spiked Dragon Espinas, which returns from the frontier of Monster Hunter. Thorns lulls his enemies into a false sense of security before revealing his true nature and lashing out at anyone who gets in his way. Gor Magala, the flagship monster from Monster Hunter 4, will also appear in Sunbreak along with Daimyo Hermitaur and Pyre Rakna Kadaki.

The Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak demo features multiple quests, tutorial quests, and a super difficult advanced quest featuring the expansion’s flagship monster.

  • Starting Rank: Great Izuchi
  • Intermediate level: Tetranadon
  • Expert Rank: Astalos

You can also try out tutorial missions that cover riding wyverns, changing abilities, and combat basics, and all of the demo content can be played solo or in multiplayer.

Dawn is just the beginning. In true Monster Hunter style, Capcom will continue to support the game with free updates. The first is scheduled for August 2022 and will add Lucent Nargacuga and the Forlorn Arena location. In the fall of 2022, another update will be released, the third in the winter of 2022, and so on. Each will add new monsters and subspecies.

Finally, Capcom clarified the requirements to run Sunbreak. You need 13 GB of disk space to download Sunbreak and you must complete the seven-star Serpent Goddess of Thunder quest.

Be sure to check if your PC can handle Monster Hunter Rise before Capcom releases Sunbreak on June 30.
