Palworld is a Pokemon-like JRPG with tons of weapons.

We’ve all lost too many Pokémon at the hands of a gym boss. What if you could give them weapons? It’s essentially the predecessor to Palworld, an open-world, creature-capturing JRPG that puts its own spin on the Pokemon genre by arming your captive creatures with an arsenal that even Captain Price would be pleased with.

The new trailer, shown at the Future Game Show, shows not one but two boss fights where you and your trusty pets take on a storm of bullets. While your main character runs with a weapon in hand, your friends can also run, providing great amplification for tight situations.

The trailer also shows how you can team up with these creatures to maximize your chances of taking down your enemies. Have you ever dreamed of leading a Lapras-like creature into battle with a rocket launcher strapped to its back? It seems like anything is possible at Palworld, and that’s what we’re here for.

Check out the action-packed trailer below which shows how creatures can be used in a non-violent way – to start fires or offer lifts in this beautiful world.

But since we’re fans of the bigger, more competitive FPS games, we’d recommend only watching it for the sheep creatures that look suspiciously like Woolos with machine guns.

While it might seem like a perfect fit for Nintendo Switch, Palworld won’t be joining the platform to directly compete with Scarlet and Violet. Instead, you’ll have to dive into this enigmatic world on PC when it launches on Steam this year.
