In recent weeks and months, there have been many rumors about the return of the famous horror series Silent Hill. So far, the biggest evidence has been released by the Dusk Golem leader, who has shared screenshots from the game, which should be called “Sakura”. And now it looks like we have received official confirmation, although not directly from Konami.
Director Christoph Gans, who has a film adaptation of Silent Hill, announced a few days ago that he is working on a new film based on the horror series, due out next year. And in an interview with the French magazine Jeuxactu (translated by the Gamingsym website), he then confirmed that he was collaborating with Konami, which allegedly has a plan to revive Silent Hill:
“The series will be re-released for video games and the film will be part of this global initiative.”
Not surprisingly, Konami took inspiration from the second and third Resident Evil remakes.
We’re still waiting for confirmation directly from Konami, but it’s more of a public secret now that new Silent Hill games are being made. We already wrote that according to the Dusk Golem insert, there should be as many as 4 titles in development.
