Some new types of Phasmophobia ghosts were added in the recent June update, but a variant of Deogen’s creepy but slow-moving ghost transforms the experience almost into something different from another of the best PC horror games, Dead by Daylight.
We’ve known since May that the new Phasmophobia update added several new types of ghosts, and the introduction of Kinetic Games’ type Deogen was an ominous tip that players can “run but can’t hide” from him. . .
Creepy stuff, and materialized in the game as a ruthless but slow spirit that constantly haunts the player like a zombie in plain sight. This is already approaching the territory handled by games like Friday the 13th, Dead by Daylight, etc., especially since most Phasmophobia ghosts remain invisible most of the time. However, to make matters worse, one player came across a terrifying “broken” Deogen variant that actually rolled right at him and was far from the normal clumsy version.
Seeing player Crickett_ dodge Deogen as he circled the kitchen cupboard definitely reminded me of dodging the killer in Dead by Daylight, and this leaning version of Deogen reminded me of that game’s newest creature, the Drudge.
I didn’t know what to expect from the new Deogen, seeing him coming straight at me with a broken back nearly gave me a heart attack. phasmophobia game
Let’s hope not all Phasmophobia ghosts behave like this. My heart couldn’t take it.
