FPS survival game Nightingale showed off its world map system in a new gameplay trailer at Summer Game Fest. The world map system allows players to create and use various maps to open portals, but they must also fight against large destructive monsters that roam the void between the worlds of the creation games.
“I am afraid you are alone in the realms, the portals are a mess. I’m not even sure Nightingale survived. Those are the words of the off-screen trailer, which goes on to explain how players can use rare resources to create world maps, which can then be used to open portals to the “interdimensional void.” Map selection can be used to influence the destination.
The trailer features open world gameplay in various environments where the character shoots bears, spiders, and other monsters as the player hunts, lights fires, and crafts to survive. The trailer ends with the player holding a pocket watch and snapping their fingers, before showing a creepy shot of an ornate skull-faced statue.
