Fallout 4 mods are priceless. Take power armor, for example. It’s heavy, clunky, and sounds great, but there’s one problem: It’s not elegant, not like the Halo armor. And what’s the fanciest Halo armor you could ask for because it’s 3am and you can’t sleep and those are the questions that are starting to cross your mind?
Well, for us, it’s an ODST game, the 2009 Halo 3 spin-off that you can also play as part of the Master Chief Collection. If you could dress like this in Fallout 4…
Well, thanks to the entrepreneurial group NexusMods, this very specific but very cool dream has come true. ODST Battle Armor allows you to customize your Fallout character to one of Bungie’s classic shooter Orbital Strike Marines or Helljumpers. There are three different armors; four helmets; different skins, visors and glitter colors; HUD overlay; and you can even write your own nickname on the number. Butch, Romeo, Mickey, Buck and Dare were the first skydivers. We suggest you come up with something equally hard and soft. Maybe a combination of both Rombak.
ODST armor can be worn by Fallout characters of both genders, and the entire mod has a few other cool additions as well. If you go to Fort Independence and head under the castle, you’ll find a whole new area with enemies to defeat and additional secret gear to collect.
You can also, if you get tired of all that Helljumper, swap out your armor for something just as iconic. Do you remember Halo: Combat Evolved, the UNSC marines that came with you on every mission and had that nice glowing green eyepiece like the Dragonball Z Infiltrator? Oh yeah, ODST Battle Armor lets you play with them too. Just make sure you get the right part with a strong Australian accent.
