Dying Light Definitive Edition is developer Techland’s way of saying goodbye to zombie horror games, thanks to seven years of community support that bundles all existing DLC into one package, and it’s coming soon. Dying Light Definitive Edition will be released digitally on June 9 on all platforms except Nintendo Switch, and Techland is offering the game for 70% off to celebrate its release.

Current Dying Light Platinum Edition owners will automatically receive a free upgrade to the Definitive Edition, which will unlock the remaining five DLC sets not included in the Platinum Edition.

“Dying Light has been a fantastic journey and we are grateful to the community for supporting the game with us for the past seven years,” Techland said in a statement. “However, we also understand that the sheer volume of updates and DLC released for our game can be a deterrent to new and returning players. We don’t want you to miss out on any part of the full Dying Light experience.”

Although the release marks the end of the game’s active development, Techland has stated that they will continue to replay the events continuously for the foreseeable future.

Along with all 26 DLC packs, from full expansions to new cosmetics, Techland will add Harran’s Tactical Units Pack for free if you purchase the game within two weeks of release.

This is another DLC with a special set of themed skins for your armor and tactical weapons for your arsenal. PC gamers can take advantage of this offer on Steam, GOG, or the Epic Games Store.

Techland announces Dying Light Definitive Edition as a farewell to active game development and is busy working on Dying Light 2 DLC and an all-new fantasy RPG. But perhaps there is still room to include even more in the original Dying Light so mentioned at the end of the announcement.

“It is a tribute to seven years of great love and support for this game; on the other hand, this is the grand finale of our adventures in Harran,” Techland said in a statement. “But let’s see what the future holds [emphasis in the original]”.

Either way, the Dying Light Definitive Edition is enough to keep us busy until the delayed Dying Light 2 DLC releases later in 2022.
