Summary of reviews of games about The Quarry

After the extraordinary success of the interactive horror film Until Dawn, Supermassive Games turned to The Dark Pictures anthology, which unfortunately has not achieved the qualities of the said PlayStation exclusivity of the three games released so far. So it’s no surprise that The Quarry’s relatively recent announcement has brought their attention to this game, which will be released this Friday on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series platforms.

What ratings does the game get from foreign reviewers and did the creators manage to stand out from the shadow of Until Dawn? You will find the answer below.

The charming cast and breathtaking visuals are certainly noteworthy, but it’s the strong and fluid plot that makes the title stand out.

The Quarry is an addictive horror adventure with incredibly cute characters and some effective lessons. The central plot is funny and the game is not taken too seriously. Even if there are a few pitfalls, they can be forgiven because they are not so critical as to devalue the overall experience. So far this is Supermassive’s best work.

The Quarry is another impressive title from Supermassive Games. While they don’t deviate from their previous titles, their ability to write an interesting story with compelling characters is only getting better. There are still a few ailments here and there, such as slow motion, some facial animations, and minor audio issues, but the game looks better than ever and also comes with a great soundtrack. If you’re a fan of Until Dawn or Dark Pictures, you’ll love it; especially since a larger budget has a much larger cast and a much larger and more extensive story.

I wish there was more action in the hands of the player, but I can’t deny how exciting the choices are, especially when they lead to absolute chaos. As the wild run through the woods, dark mysteries and the thrill of keeping people alive begins, an atmosphere will be created that will keep you on your toes until the final headlines.

The Quarry is a wonderfully atmospheric interactive horror game that offers some of the best acting performances in the gaming industry. Rich, intertwining stories bring an incredible story that you’ll want to return to – especially if you don’t save them all.

The Quarry is not without flaws, but by no means a bad game. It’s fun, exciting, and the fate of the characters is really in your hands. Like most games developed by Supermassive, The Quarry is best played when there are enough blankets around for you and your friend to hide under the co-op gameplay.

The Quarry can easily be recommended to players who have been watching chamber horror films for years and dreaming of making smart decisions that save everyone’s life. Or also psychopaths who just want to eliminate all playable characters entirely.

The Quarry comes close to being the strongest successor to Until Dawn, but unfortunately it fails at the very end because the story’s climax doesn’t live up to the ambition the game originally set. However, for those who are looking for a satisfying horror game, a graphic adventure or an interactive movie where they can enjoy a few thrilling moments, the game is more than enough to keep them entertained, mainly thanks to the nicely tuned gameplay and playing likeable characters.

A gripping horror story where interactive elements try to keep the tension going.

A fun but ill-conceived horror adventure with a too slow start and a too fast end.

The career is based on the idea that your choice matters, but in practice this principle does not work very well. It’s an exciting attempt to recapture the magic of 2015’s cult hit Until Dawn, but instead of The Quarry showcasing the rise of Supermassive, the studio is stuck in the past.
