We’ve known for a while that Netflix is preparing a new series of features in the universe of the Resident Evil series.
It follows the story of Albert Wesker, who moved with his daughters to a city aptly named New Raccoon City. Umbrella, realizing his mistakes, starts his business here again. But their new product, Joy, contains the T-virus, which, of course, inevitably leads to disaster. The action of the second line takes place a few years later, when humanity is already on the verge of extinction.
Now we have a new trailer that definitely doesn’t skimp on the action. Needless to say, while the CGI looks good, it’s story-wise and doesn’t appeal to fans very much from the start. The series bears little resemblance to the original, although its creators claim to take the game’s series into account.
Resident Evil: The Drug will premiere on July 14 on Netflix.
