This year’s online Warhammer Skulls festival brought a lot of news to all fans of Warhammer and video games. Developers and publishers announced new games, showed news about already announced ones, as well as content for already released games. Today we will look at selected attractions.

Dark Tide:

Team co-op shooter Darktide this time is shown to us in the form of a cinematic trailer, the music for which was written by the well-known Jesper Kyd. A new character, Psyker, is also introduced in the trailer for the first time. The game is coming to PC and Xbox on September 13 this year.

Swindler:

Owlcat Games – the creators of Pathfinder Games – showed their first cRPG for Warhammer.
cRPG style is a sub-genre of RPG that gives players a lot of freedom of choice in the open world. Basically these games have a game system based on some famous board game. Just to give you an idea: the most famous representatives include the Pathfinder series, Pillars of Eternity, Baldur’s Gate or Icewind Dale. Rogue Traders in Warhammer University are merchants, explorers, or adventurers who are allowed to explore the galaxy outside of the Empire’s zone. So we can expect a gigantic world, freedom of movement and decision making, and very deep world building in this gothic sci-fi environment. The variety of companions in the group also looks interesting – there are xenos races, space marines, battle sisters and the like. You can only look forward to Rogue Trader on PC. No release date has been announced yet, but Founders Packs will provide early access and other perks.

Boltgun:

Auroch Digital and Focus Entertainment have unveiled Boltgun, a retro-inspired pixel art hyper-action shooter that puts you in the role of a marine, taking a boltgun and chainword and setting out to slay the hordes of chaos. Sounds like something for fans of Brutal Doom and similar mods, which will definitely be a huge attraction for a lot of people. The game is coming out PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2023.

Space Marine 2:

Arguably the biggest game in development, this time around boasts a trailer from the developers. There are no new in-game demos, but instead we can look at the enthusiasm and commitment of the developers. Clive Standen (known, for example, from the TV series Vikings), who played Tito, will also take the floor.

Warpforge:

Everguild, the spirit of the popular Horus Heresy: Legion, takes the collectible card game format to the 41st millennium. Next year, you will be able to collect virtual cards and fight them on PC and mobile phones.

Shutas, blood and TEEF:

Studio Rogueside showed new footage and announced the release date of their crazy 2D shooter. In SB&T, you take on the role of a member of a not-so-peace-loving race. Yes, on the screen you will run, shoot and yell WAAAAAAAAH as the most popular galactic mushroom of all time – Orc. The game looks like a proper action pack full of action and you can expect it on almost all platforms except mobile as early as October 20th (the release date is definitely a coincidence and has nothing to do with the annual orktober).

For other news, such as DLC in already released games, you can watch the video of yesterday’s event on YouTube.
