Tekken continues to gain momentum, with its publisher Bandai Namco announcing that Tekken 7 has sold over nine million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling Tekken game of all time. This surpasses the sales of Tekken 3 (8.5 million) and Tekken 5 (8.2 million), which means that the latest game in the fighting game series has become the most successful.
this new stage it means that Tekken 7 has sold an additional three million copies since September 2020, when game director Katsuhiro Harada announced that Tekken 7 had surpassed the six million sales mark. In total, the series has sold more than 53 million copies. It’s no small feat to top the beloved classic Tekken 3, and it’s a well-deserved achievement for one of the best games in the long-running series.
Bandai Namco announced at Combo Breaker 2022 that the Tekken World Tour 2022 will see the return of in-person competitive battles, with five “Main Events” kicking off at the next CEO 2022 event on June 24.
It’s not yet clear if the game will see a fifth season of new content soon, or if it’s time for Tekken 8 to make its grand entrance. Regardless of what the future holds for the King of Iron Fist tournament, this commercial success will likely mean more Tekken action sooner rather than later.

The PC version of Tekken 7 is a huge success, so much so that buying PlayStation Evo didn’t stop you from playing Tekken on PC. The game still maintains a good player count on Steam, with a steady 5,000 players per day after peaking in late 2021 with the introduction of fan-favorite character Kunimitsu.
