New open world stealth game Sniper Elite 5 is officially out and the development team has been busy mitigating the drag by fixing some pesky bugs on launch day. However, developer Rebellion says that players may experience some remaining issues when wandering around occupied France, so keep an eye out for some of these current known issues.
Rebellion says it is investigating fixes for several currently unresolved bugs in Sniper Elite 5. These include some crashes, some mission-specific bugs where key items are missing or not working, and some general performance issues. In the first mission, The Atlantic Wall, the secret door sometimes doesn’t open even though players have found the key to Marseille, and some players can’t find Steffen Beckendorf’s character. In the second mission, dropping a candlestick on your target should unlock the Kar98 rifle, but it doesn’t always work. Rebellion says that he is working to resolve these issues.
The team is also working on several issues, including one related to the Windows Store version of Sniper Elite 5. PC disabling EAC and running the game as administrator.
The developers have already fixed several bugs that were present at launch, including a missing P.1938 silenced pistol that was supposed to be a bonus for players who pre-ordered the game, a crash that occurred when players shot through the water, or when loading a machine gun by teams eliminated before the machine gun.
Speaking of pre-orders, if you pre-ordered Sniper Elite 5 on the Epic Games Store, you should have seen a refund in your account; according to Rebellion’s statement made by VGC, the game was “not available on the Epic Store at launch.” due to “uncontrollable circumstances”. However, Rebellion still plans to release Sniper Elite 5 on the Epic Store at some point in the future.
