PUBG Battlegrounds players can try out the latest Battle Royale update today on the PC test server ahead of the PUBG Ranked Season 18.1 release date. The new patch, coming out on June 8, also changes the map rotation slightly and increases item spawn rates to increase healing potential in multiplayer.
The patch marks the beginning PUBG Battlegrounds Season 18 Picks Up when it launches on live servers next week, as well as changing map rotation and frequency. Those playing normal matches will notice that Vikendi has disappeared again and the snow map is leaving to make way for the return of the active Paramo Volcano environment with regulars Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and Sanhok. Made some minor changes to the moorland to add extra rocks and siding, as well as a unique spiral shaft.
The map ranking rotation has been slightly changed to increase the chances of players parachuting into Taego: 40% of plays on Erangel, 30% on Miramar, and 30% on Taego. Ranked Season 17 rewards can also be claimed after the start of Ranked Season 18 and must be earned before the season ends.
PUBG Battlegrounds 18.1 Ranked Season Release Date and Maintenance
PUBG Battlegrounds Update 18.1 and Ranked Season 18 should be available after maintenance on June 7th and 8th. Dates and hours of service for your region:
- PDT: June 7, 5:30 p.m. – June 8, 1:30 p.m.
- WBS: June 7, 8:30 p.m. – June 8, 4:30 p.m.
- Summer time: June 8, from 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Eastern Central Time: June 8, from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- KST: June 8, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Players in normal matches will notice an increase in the amount of healing items, with a general improvement in item spawn rates on Erangel and Miramar, as well as some adjustments to specific item spawn rates to slightly increase the amount of care available. The Krafton team notes that the increased spawn rate of weapons and gadgets has made players more aggressive overall, hence the higher demand for healing items.
