Euro Truck Simulator 2: Heart of Russia will not be released

Last year, another addition to the popular truck simulator was announced. Euro Truck Simulator 2 from the Czech development studio SCS Software will be called Heart of Russiawhy he had to take us to the biggest country on the planet, to Russia.

However, if you have not lived somewhere under root or without access to the Internet and other media for the past few months, then you probably know that there is a war going on in Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia.

This sparked a subsequent wave of backlash when various game developers, for example, started to help Ukraine a bit, including the aforementioned SCS Software, which backed several charities when they also released the Ukrainian Paint Jobs Pack (which was bought by over 85,000 people). , the proceeds of which also went to the rescue.

However, the situation around the DLC itself was uncertain, but only until yesterday. During it, the authors published a short blog post stating that decided to abandon the publication and creation of the Hearth of Russiaalthough there are only a few weeks left in February.

While the studio tries to be as apolitical as possible, they simply don’t want the release of the data disc to be seen as support for or tolerance of Russian aggression. Thus, they rather abandon their idea of ​​apoliticality.

However, from a purely theoretical point of view, not all days are behind us. The authors believe that Ukraine will benefit when it later tries to find a way in which the mentioned data disk could play a role in the subsequent treatment process for all.
