The awesome Doom mod from the creator of the recent Turbo Overkill FPS game is getting a standalone remake in Unreal Engine 5. The Total Chaos mod is essentially a new Silent Hill game and was already great in the Doom engine: Unreal 5 remake could be one of the best horror games for pc.

There are so many great Doom mods out there that make you wonder how modders actually fit these things into the main Doom engine, whether it’s Doom’s transformation into a shinobi, a post-apocalyptic open world, Mortal Kombat, or the best Sonic the Hedgehog game ever. . .

Total Chaos is one of those mods. You can download it from ModDB if you have the classic Doom game, and it’s basically a new free first-person Silent Hill game. now its creator vadagolik – who recently worked on the excellent Turbo Overkill – have confirmed that they are working on a complete standalone remake of Total Chaos in Unreal Engine 5.

Wadaholic and another developer have been working on a new version “more or less secretly for the last two years”, presumably in parallel with the development of Turbo Overkill. You can see the impressive first screenshots below. The team says it’s “a few years” away, but there will be more news soon.

There’s no word on whether Total Chaos Remake will be free to play when it launches, but with all that effort, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a paid version. Either way, it’s likely to show up before the next Silent Hill game is released.
