The Valheim Mistlands update will introduce the first new Viking biome since its launch in Early Access, which means it will include a whole collection of fearsome new beasts for battle. To do this, you will need new equipment, and the Iron Gate developers have told you how you will create your new arsenal.
The new Mistlands crafting station looks like a cross between a blacksmith’s forge and a hidden altar in new concept art shared by the developers in a recent Steam post. It is semicircular, with a small buried pool on one side, which is connected by a narrow channel to a large pool of molten metal from which a mysterious flame licks the air. On the right side there is a reservoir for hardening stones.
The developers say you’ll need this new crafting station to craft “most of the Mistylands level weapons.” You’ll need it, they explain, because “a normal forge can’t get you very far, and to combat what you find in the Misty Lands, you’ll need something with… a little more.”
One of those weapons is probably the Mistylands Bow, which seems to be made from the vertebrae of something pretty big (and probably scary). The only new Misty Lands creature we’ve seen so far is the bunny: it may look cute and cuddly, but as Monty Python taught us, it could very well be a deadly horror.
The developers also showed off images of two new types of mushrooms that you can find in the Misty Lands. What they do and how you can use them is still a mystery, but they seem powerful.
We’ve compiled everything we know about the Valheim Mistlands update in our Valheim Update Roadmap, but there’s no specific release date for the Mistlands patch yet, though we expect it to be released this year.
