It’s a cute adventure game that has a clear target group and tries to look good, be fun to play, and at the same time really do. the absolute minimum for success. While I don’t like this approach, I understand why. And I must say that Kao is likely to succeed financially. This is one of those games that I would recommend to a certain type of audience, and on the contrary, he advised the rest to continue. So let’s take a look at this kangaroo adventure.
The basic concept of the game is simple, and Kao is definitely not trying to innovate in the field of adventure. You will defeat enemies, solve simple puzzles and navigate through individual areas and islands. If you are not familiar with this series, reproducible cycle can be compared with Rachet and Clank, only worse. The combat system is really primitive, it consists of a light and strong attack and a quick fall to the ground, which will create a pressure wave. Sometimes you can throw an explosive barrel at enemies, but otherwise you will find that all the time only you press two, three buttons. Even the enemies are not particularly interesting and diverse. You will encounter the usual three types. Flying, like flies, those that attack from afar, so can monkeys throwing durians, and of course those that are at close range. In the form of everything from piranhas to monkeys with repair keys. And here and there you will meet barefoot.
This somewhat lifeless combat system is often alternative puzzles. However, even they are not special. While they change their mechanics, they never fully exploit it, and you probably won’t run into a point where you have to explicitly think about how to succeed. Usually everything is visible at once.
