Minecraft Warden Gets Even More Benefits in 1.19 Preview

The Minecraft 1.19 release date is theoretically close. In the next big update, many exciting things await you, including frogs, a multitude of new alleyways, and a fearsome Minecraft Guardian. Each of them brings something different to the game, but at least in the case of The Guardian, it seems that Mojang really wants to terrify us.

If you don’t believe us, check out the latest release notes for Minecraft 1.19 Preview 3, which almost immediately followed Preview 2, likely due to Guardian requirements. While most of the notes here are devoted to bug fixes, there are a few key Guardian changes worth mentioning. The first one is that if a guardian gets stuck in a liquid, he will angrily disappear instead of digging. We don’t know how one viciously disappears, but we’re glad to see it.

The other big change, and it’s something that was introduced specifically for Prerelease 3, is that “Guardians’ sonic boom attack now bypasses damage reduction from armor enchantments like Protection.” This makes The Guardian a bit more intense as it shows that Mojang wants to avoid this enemy rather than torment him.

While many of the smaller bug changes are pretty specific, it’s worth noting that mobs seem to spawn more often inside Nether portals, meaning they often rip the fabric of space and time. Mojang is working to stop this in a future release, but “will not make any further changes until version 1.19.”

From Unofficial Minecraft News: Did you know that it’s okay to put GIFs in Minecraft as long as you can find a willing cow and also understand optical illusions? We’re not even sure you need a real cow.
