A well-known former Minecraft modder landed his dream job helping modders create more mods. The bottom line is that this is a different kind of sandbox game. But don’t worry, modder Chicken Bones is now officially part of the Terraria development team, and he too has a lot of experience modding Terraria.
Chicken Bones has created popular Minecraft mods like Ender Storage and Translocators, as well as insufficient items, which make up our own list of the best Minecraft mods. He has also been modding Terraria since 2015 when he switched from modding to Minecraft.
In the latest Terraria State of the Game article, Re-Logic’s Director of Business Strategy, Ted “Loki” Murphy, gives Chicken Bones a warm welcome and explains a bit about what he’ll be doing on the Terraria team. “He is already hard at work alongside our core team, and the focus is currently on developing tModLoader and tModPorter,” writes Murphy. These tools allow players to use and transfer mods to Terraria, much like the Script Extender mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4.
Murphy says that “Chicken Bones’s strong technical/tooling expertise in the world of coding” will be a great asset to the Terraria team going forward.
Chicken Bones briefly returned to Twitter after a seven-year hiatus to celebrate the occasion.
“I’m happy to be working at Re-Logic Games on Terraria and tModLoader!” said.
We don’t know exactly what Re-Logic has in store for the future of Terraria – the developers have blatantly misled fans about the possible existence of Terraria 2 (which has yet to be confirmed or announced), and released the “final updates” for the Terraria original a long time ago.
