Developer CD Projekt Red is having some issues right now, but most of its developers are currently working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, which is currently scheduled for release in 2023. December 2020.
According to CD Projekt’s latest investor relations filing, about half of the development studio’s staff are currently working on the next Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. In the current breakdown, about a fifth of the developers are working on ” other projects,” including “a new game on The Witcher IP.” We’ve already heard a bit about it: it’s The Witcher 4, the start of a “new saga” starring Lynx School, and it’s being built on Unreal Engine 5.
Smaller segments of the studio are currently devoted to “Gwent-related projects,” the Spokko mobile game studio, continued support for Cyberpunk 2077 and its next-gen console releases, a new project featuring The Molasses Flood, and the release of the upcoming generation. from The Witcher 3.
CD Projekt Red recently announced that this remastered version of the beloved RPG will be released later this year.
Details on what the big Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will include are still pretty slim, but after a year and a half of patches and updates, it’ll be nice to be back in Night City when it launches.
