Embracer interested in a Remasters Remakes sequel

A few weeks ago, Square Enix made the rather unexpected decision to sell its Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montréal, and Square Enix Montréal Embracer Group studios. Soon several big brands will fall into the hands of Moloch, which already include divisions such as Gearbox Software, Koch Media, Saber Interactive or THQ Nordic.which includes Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief whose Cain’s Legacy. And Embracer doesn’t seem to want to skimp on them.

In Embracer Group’s latest quarter 2021 financial results report, we read that The deal, which will see the studios still owned by Square Enix change hands, is expected to close between July/July and September/September.. But the main statement is this: “The announcement received an overwhelming and positive response. We see great potential in this, not only in terms of sequels, but also remakes, remasters, spin-offs, as well as transmedia projects within the entire group.”

We already know that arises one more step to the Tomb Raider series, which will run on Unreal Engine 5, however, we do not know the intended fate of the other brands that came under Embracer Group’s control throughout the deal, so we can speculate. Perhaps every fan of the Deus Ex series would love to see the end of the trilogy starring Adam Jens, approached by Square Enix after a lukewarm critical and commercial reception. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided since 2016 I didn’t want to at all. In contrast, Thief supporters, after Eidos Montréal’s even less well-received attempt in 2014, would rather welcome a remaster of one of the previous episodes.

In the comments, feel free to write about how you would imagine a sequel, remake, remaster or spin-off. And yes one day we would like to see more Sleeping Dogs too. However, while this brand should now also be owned by Embracer, we fear that with the closure of United Front Games a few years ago, the fate of detective Wei Shen and virtual Hong Kong was sealed once and for all. But I wish we were wrong.
