Developers from Kylotonn in collaboration with Nacon introduced a new part of the WRC racing serieswhich is built under license from the World Rally Championship. New Year’s Eve, subtitled “Generations”, is at least for a while the last work to be published by Kylotonn and Nacon.
From next year, licensing rights will be transferred to EA and Codemasters. This year’s WRC Generations is a farewell to this rally series for the French team that has been taking care of the brand since 2015. The most significant innovation should be new hybrid rally special category Rally1which, in connection with the new rules, are experiencing their premiere this year at the World Rally Championship.
Game mechanics in the form of battery management and various engine maps should also be related to the specifics of hybrid engines. The authors also refer to improved and more realistic vehicle physicschallenging career mode including team management, decal editor, split screen and online multiplayer or co-driver mode where one player drives while the other reads his schedule.
In addition to the permanent content, the developers also promise various time-limited challenges and player ratings, which will be grouped into new league mode. In the field of environment and vehicles, 22 different countries, 165 special stages with a total length of 750 km, 49 teams of the 2022 season divided into Rally1, Rally2 and Junior WRC classes, and a total of 37 legendary historical cars are waiting for you.
The Swedish rally, which has moved to the Umeå region, should undergo significant changes compared to last year, which will bring to WRC Generations 6 new special stages.
Generations WRC will be released October 13 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Later in the fall, the PC and Nintendo Switch versions will expand the set of platforms. In addition to the trailer attached above, below you can see the first set of images from the game.
