Polish studio Team Blueber proved what horror games can do. This is evidenced by such successful titles as Average, Layers of fear or Observer. Although the game is still a little lacking. But let’s put it aside for now. If things had developed differently then, we would know the creators of Krakow today as those who created a truly extraordinary version of the Alien.
They worked on the Bloober team first-person story game with elements of action, exploration, survival and close combat. Everything then was characterized by a deep moral choice, which should have led to at least two different goals. It is also interesting that the hero had to be very careful. Opponents had to be constantly outnumbered, and if he had not been careful, he could easily have died. For this reason a fight was out of the question.
And where should all this take place? In the Middle Ages. Who was supposed to be the enemy? Mysterious alien race. Yes, the terrible enemy had to be alone xenomorphwho was even worshiped by a cult, considered him a god. As a medieval version of Amanda Ripley, we had to avoid him or outsmart him.

Now you’re thinking that Invader and Medieval don’t go well together. According to the latest information, representatives of 20th Century Fox were delighted with this idea and were forced to agree. directed by Ridley Scott. But then 20th Century Fox was bought by Disney, and the whole project came together. Although, on paper, he still should exist and it is possible that he will return to him in the Bloober Team, but no longer under the auspices of the Alien.
The whole concept was supposed to be like a crazy version of Alien: Isolation. The main difference will be that in the Middle Ages we would have to use completely different tools in order to survive in the confrontation with an advanced opponent. Another difference was the combat. The one in Alien: Isolation was only on the third track, here it will be more frequent and intense.
The Bloober Team was supposed to have fancy marketing too. They wanted to present the project under a different name (probably black plague) and show a mysterious and very dangerous enemy. However, it is not until the second trailer that they learn that the enemy is a xenomorph. The purpose of the first video was to introduce the player to the medieval environment and the cult of worship of a mysterious deity. Only later did we learn the shocking detail.
The Bloober team is currently working on several projects. One is in collaboration with Konami (but it’s not Silent Hill), another is in collaboration with Private Division under the auspices of Take-Two Interactive, and we also have the new Layers of Fear powered by Unreal Engine 5.
