In 2020, thirty-seven Counter-Strike coaches including Brazilians Apoka, Guerri, dead, rikz, prd and ellll were suspended by ESIC for “coaching error”. Sanctions ranged from months of suspension from joint ESIC championships to years, depending on factors such as when the foul was used and even the “level” of the team represented by the coach – for example , the teams judged at the highest level received penalties.

Some of ESIC’s partners are ESL, DreamHack, and BLAST, which allow teams like MIBR and FURIA to play multiple leagues without their coach during matches from 2020 to 2021. CS:GO developer Valve has just released a message that it is aware of the bug.
