Improved Rade 6000 RX 6000 will be more expensive than we expected
It is already almost certain that AMD is preparing new versions of the current generation Radeon video cards, although we are still waiting for the official announcement. The improved models are supposed to offer higher clocks and faster memory, but we shouldn’t expect much performance gains. However, it was originally supposed that the new models would have the same price tag as the original ones and would essentially replace them, but in the end this is not the case.
A few days ago, Videocardz magazine published pricing information from leaks directly from AMD, and Wccftech published performance data again. The Radeon RX 6950 XT is expected to be about 4% faster than the original RX 6900 XT and is said to cost $1,099, $100 more than the latter.
The Radeon RX 6750 XT will offer the biggest performance shift of the three upcoming models, 7%, but that will also be reflected in the price, which is set at $549, up $70 from the original RX 6700 XT.
And the latest innovation is the Radeon RX 6650 XT (which will only be sold in non-reference versions), which reportedly offers only 2% more performance than the original model for a $20 surcharge. The new price is $399, the same as the competing RTX 3060 Ti.
All three models are due to be announced and released on Tuesday, May 10th.
Intel’s desktop graphics release is finally approaching
Expected graphics cards from Intel have suffered several delays. We initially thought that we would see it last year, then we learned that they will be released in the first quarter of this year, but in the end it was only about laptop graphics. Desktop models should be released in the second quarter, and according to Wccftech, this will indeed happen. The magazine brought exclusive information about individual versions.
A bit of a surprise is that the top model Arc A780 should be released later, in the first wave only three low-end cards will be released, each from one segment. The most powerful will be the A750, which should offer RTX 3060-level performance for $350 and should launch around the turn of May and June.

That being said, we also have the A380 card, which is already a true low-end at the GTX 1650 level and priced at $150.
As the last of the first wave in July, the Arc A580 should arrive, which will be among the first two mentioned cards with roughly RTX 3050 performance and a $280 price tag.
AMD announces its conference at Computex 2022
Finally, a small report. This year’s Computex is slowly approaching and we can look forward to more announcements covering all kinds of hardware. AMD has already announced its conference, it will take place on May 23 at 16:00 our time. Of course, we don’t yet know exactly what the company will present, but in general, a detailed demonstration of upcoming Zen 4 processors and possibly RDNA 3 graphics cards is expected.
