Apex Legends players new and old will know how important loot is to a successful game. We all have our favorite weapons, and we also have a list of Apex Legends weapon tiers to consider – sometimes the weapon you like might not be the best weapon to use in the current meta. Luckily, Respawn Entertainment is introducing clever supply boxes for Storm Point, giving Apex Legends players more ways to get high-tier loot in Season 13.
If you’re wondering what the Smart Supply Box really is, you’re not alone. Senior game designer Samantha Kalman told the press that this is a new type of stock box that will always give you better gear and weapons no matter what.
Kalman explains that Smart Supply Boxes are “filled with loot based on scanning your current gear and weapons.” “That means the loot still has value. one of the two [the Smart Supply Bin] upgrade or add to what you already have [you with] gear and weapon attachments you don’t already have.
But the concept of “smart loot” isn’t new to Apex Legends. All of Storm Point’s wild animal slots offer Smart Loot Drops, which means they’ll “drop attachments and ammo to your team based on your armor set,” according to the blog post. Respawn Entertainment’s Storm Point map.
But it’s clear that Respawn wants to expand on this concept and take it to the next level with the Smart Supply Boxes it implemented in Season 13. We don’t know how big the improved rewards will be, but we’re sure ‘they’ll be more substantial than what you’ll find in a Prowler Den. Why? The risk is higher – and we all know that the greater the risk, the greater the reward.
Apex Legends Smart Supply Boxes will only be available in one of the new IMC Armory locations for now. These locations are “essentially a mini-card game,” Kalman said. “Players can walk in and activate them, which will trigger a sixty-second combat encounter against waves of Spectre.”
If you manage to survive your battle against the infantry auto attack, you will be rewarded with an increasing number of Smart Supply Boxes based on how many Specter Waves you manage to defeat in a minute.
Kalman said Smart Supply Boxes are a great way to get “a good random weapon and a great starter kit,” as well as late-game upgrades that can help you secure a crucial victory. We know there’s a list of Apex Legends weapons to keep in mind, but it looks like any game in Storm Point will have to stop for some Smart Supply Boxes.
