Trek to Yomi is a masterpiece for me. Looking at it purely subjectively, I think this game is absolutely brilliant and definitely one of the best neAA games I’ve played in a while. Intense battles, breathtaking visuals, gritty storyline and fast-paced sound combine to make this game a truly unique game of 2022. overlooked. However, if you’re even slightly interested in Japanese culture, cinematography, or just solid gameplay, then please at least give Trek to Yomi a try.

This action-packed samurai adventure features a unique visual presentation, a well-told story, thrilling battles based on place and time, and a cinematic atmosphere that brings it all together. It’s honestly impressive how this game manages to cram that kind of experience into about five hours. I wish some of the boss fights were more difficult and more focused on the main character, but that doesn’t spoil the overall experience.

All in all, Trek to Yomi is an impressive homage to classic Japanese action movies. The performance looks and sounds incredible, the art direction and music are completely authentic both in terms of history and cinematography. As an action game, Trek to Yomi is attractive but lacks variety and depth, and the controls and animations are less complex than the visuals. Trek to Yomi is an addictive and completely unique game worth playing, especially if you’re a fan of great samurai movies or just love new variations on the theme of action games.

Trek To Yomi will set you back about the price of a movie ticket, but definitely guarantees more spectacle than you’ll find in most feature films. A killer combination of stylish sword fighting and thought-provoking story, Trek To Yomi should be at the top of your list of games to play this year.

The Road to Yomi is a story of loss, honor and revenge. Despite some technical issues and a combat system with unbalanced combos, this is undoubtedly a game suitable for all fans of feudal Japan.

The gameplay is just incredibly tight. Poor exploration, minor combat, and just a passable story can’t make up for the aesthetics. Too bad, because the aesthetics are amazing. The backgrounds are amazingly varied and look almost poetic. I think if you’ve seen Yomi Trek and you’re hooked, then you’ve been taken care of. However, if you want strong gameplay that supports it, then the game just isn’t worth it.

Trek to Yomi is a short but breathtaking game that looks exactly like the black-and-white Japanese movies, and this excellent presentation is enough to elevate the game above average, even if it lags behind in most other aspects. Combat is one-sided and easy to manage, and exploration and puzzles have little to offer other than fleeting distractions. Luckily, her relatively short story still drew me in so much that I was happy to finish the title.

Going to Yomi is a missed opportunity. This game was created by real fans of Japanese cinema who are well versed in this genre. However, elementary gameplay lags far behind.

Gameplay bugs are a big disappointment, especially since Trek to Yomi is such a wonderful and charming game. Its visual side is reminiscent of classic samurai cinema, as few other plays have been successful, and captures the look and feel of Kurosawa’s masterpieces. If you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, it’s easy to recommend so you can admire every carefully crafted image. If only the game itself wasn’t such an unfortunate disappointment.
