when i got it Stranger from Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins under my arm so I was afraid I would regret it. For a long time I had to ponder whether my fears were justified or not. So even though it’s officially an RPG, it can be described as mixture of Dark Souls and Final Fantasy. Sounds like a great idea, doesn’t it? In this review, I will try to show you what it means to play this game.

For me, the story is one of the most important aspects of any game. Game design is a complex art, and doing everything perfectly is often almost impossible. That’s why I don’t despise a well-made story. It’s basically what motivates me to play the game and thanks to the well crafted story, I’m thinking about what’s next even if I’m not playing right now.

Unfortunately, in the case of Stranger of Paradise, the story is so flat.. Although they try to retell the events of the first part and the circumstances and the general state of the world in which the story takes place play a large role in the narrative, the game introduces you so casually that you don’t even ask the question: “why so?”? Rather, it all looks like an artificial plot. The main characters just want to destroy Chaos because it’s good and they have the determination to fight. They have their own stones that lead them to Chaos, and at any cost Chaos is trying to destroy them.
