Frogwares explained Sherlock Holmes Part One will rise above PS4 April 28, 2022. Unfortunately, far less good news has been added to the good news: Xbox One version canceled, because of the war in Ukraine. The game is already available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
The decision to cancel the Xbox One version was made due to the difficulties brought by the war. Frogwares lives in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. In fact, the development team had major problems with rendering and the studio had to choose, concentrating the work on closing the PS4 version and canceling the other. Anyone who orders the game for Xbox One will be compensated.
In the official statement, Frogwares acknowledges that their work optimization It had already proven to be more complex than expected before the release of next-gen PC and console versions. For this, it was decided to cut the launches in order to spend more time on the old generation versions.
The latter required a lot of work, including cuts and modifications. Unfortunately, as everything is about to end right now, warholding back production by disbanding the development team. With the remaining resources, Frogwares could only shut down the PS4 version of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One.
Of course, the choice was not easy, because the developers know that there are Xbox One users waiting for the game and they will be disappointed, and because the work done so far has irreparable costs.
