There Cobra Kai 2: Rising Dojos review takes us back to a time when unscrupulous publishers entrusted improvised and underfunded development teams to create very low quality licensed games created solely to capitalize on a brand’s popularity.
A phenomenon that seems to have been overcome for several years, thanks to increased production costs (which brings tighter controls on projects under construction) and greater user awareness. However, we are faced with an action game that technically looks like it came out of a PlayStation 2 and has so many problems in terms of gameplay that we are astounded.
Structure
Cobra Kai: Dojos Rising offers four different content options. mode, all accessible from the home screen. The story mode is the main mode and tries to reinterpret the events of the Netflix television series in terms of a clumsy and ruined scrolling game, giving us the opportunity to overcome various levels by choosing a martial arts school between Miyagi and Miyagi. Do Karate, Cobra Kai and Eagle Fang Karate.
In the application, you choose one of the areas of the map that were open until that time, you form a team of four. characters (belonging to the faction we originally chose) and we throw ourselves into a series of fights without much thought or understanding of narrative, apart from simple static screens where the original actors speak.
Instead, Cobra Classics spawns as a campaign mode with some pretty tough challenges to face off with different heroes depending on the situation, while All Valley Tournament is exactly as expected, so it’s a one-on-one skirmish sequence in its scope. sports event attended by fans karate boy They must remember well.
The equipment is complemented by a classic survival mode, where you try to survive as long as possible against endless waves of enemies, and a jukebox where you can listen to the many songs that characterize the rich (and in some ways valid) Cobra. soundtrack Kai 2: Dojos Rising.
Gameplay
While the experience packaged by Flux Games on paper has been degraded by excessive repetition, if one can rely on a lot of content, this is it. Gameplay to represent the most problematic and approximate aspect of the package. Without raising purely technical issues (again), we’re actually talking about an extremely obsolete system, corrupted by many flaws.
The writers of Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising had no intention of faithfully continuing what was seen in the television series, and so they filled the game with special moves with elemental effects, fiery kicks, barriers, in the middle of Kung Fu Panda and Dragon Ball. ice, projections of who has and who has more.
The idea itself isn’t bad, but combat system It quickly turns out to be a nightmare of failed collisions, paperwork, misconnections, polygon interlacing, more or less serious glitches, and often a camera stuck where it shouldn’t. From this perspective, All Valley’s Tournament mode represents the apotheosis of ugliness because all these flaws are brought to the fore and become impossible to ignore.
unfortunately insignificant power system and enough unlockable characters to require the introduction of the dojo’s “maintenance” mechanic, which also takes into account the use and “satisfaction” of various fighters, in no way manages to limit these critical issues, frankly unacceptable. A video game in 2022.
Technical realization
As if that wasn’t enough, on a technical level, Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising untraceable. The dialogue interpreted by the cast of the television series and some of the soundtrack to the soundtrack has been salvaged, it looks like he’s faced a (ugly) title for the PS2 that’s actually pretty solid but otherwise took the longest stride of its feet, but the ground was wet and he found himself in a devastating crack in the ground.
The funny thing about this graphics hardware is that it even has the luxury of: slow down on PS5 when more characters than usual appear on the screen and in any case cannot exceed 30fps: absolutely ridiculous results for a project that was clearly done in bad faith and presented completely out of this world price.

Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising is a serious contender for the title of the ugliest game of the year. You will know by now that the author is never happy to nip a project and always tries to highlight the positive aspects of a production, but there is little to be saved here: this connection is a disaster from any angle. it was marred by absolutely inexcusable technical and gameplay issues and sold for a ridiculous price. Stay away.
