bethesda finally answered accusations moved by composer Mick Gordon He outright rejected id Software in general, and Marty Stratton in particular, for the treatment he received during the development of DOOM Eternal, for which he composed the music.
The stance came in a message posted on Twitter in which Bethesda gave Stratton its unconditional support, and software IDBetween the lines, he threatened to take Gordon to court to show that his reconstruction of facts was partial and one-sided. We read the message:
“Mick Gordon’s latest post negatively describes and misrepresents the id Software team, the development of DOOM Eternal, Marty Stratton, and Chad Mossholder, one-sided and falsely portraying a professional relationship that is now irreparable.
We are aware of all the details of this story and we wholeheartedly support Marty, Chad and the id Software team. We reject the distortion of reality and the presentation of carefully selected biased facts. If necessary, we are prepared to show fully documented evidence where appropriate.
Statements posted online inflamed threats of violence and harassment against Marty, Chad, and the id Software team. We will respond quickly and with appropriate action to any threat or attack against our team members to protect their health and safety.
We are incredibly proud of id’s previous collaborations with Mick Gordon and ask fans to refrain from drawing conclusions based on his story and, more importantly, attacking anyone named on either side, including Marty, Chad or Mick.”
As you may have read, the message is a stance It’s the publisher’s network that actually fully supports Stratton’s version to protect id Software. At this point we’ll see how Gordon reacts and whether the whole story actually ends up in court.
