Soul Hackers 2: Suppresses sales, according to Sega, which hopes to make up for it in the long run

Soul Hackers 2 seems to fall short of expectations Sawbelieving that sales Atlus’ JRPG was subdued compared to initial estimates. On the other hand, the Japanese company expects a long commercial cycle for the game, so it can get back on track in the long run.

Haruki Satomi and Koichi Fukazawa, Sega’s CEO and CFO respectively, explained this during a Q&A following the presentation of the Japanese company’s financial report. While not sharing exact sales figures, they think the second installment of the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series is “struggling to reach expected sales levels,” but they still anticipate the game will be purchased in the long run.

That’s why Atlus plans to continue support the game for a long time, to expand future sales. Soul Hackers 2’s first major update will arrive in November and will be free. It will introduce four new demons and the “Dash” and “Quick Battles” features, among other things. From the words of Sega executives, so we can expect more free updates in the future and who knows maybe more complete DLCs that expand the story. We’ll see.

Soul Hackers 2, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | Available for S, Xbox One, and PC. If you haven’t already, we recommend reading our Atlus JRPG review.
