According to an Axios report, Ubisoft is developing Assassin’s Creed Code Name Red for the purpose of avoid accusations of “cultural tourism” and therefore recruits consultants and collaborates with Japanese teams.

In other words, games that make up a version of the East were filtered for the Western eye. In the case of Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, Ubisoft wants to prevent this from happening.
According to Axios, however, it’s unclear how much. consultants – external and internal – we truly have the power to act on Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. The game was developed by Ubisoft Quebec and the creative director is Jonathan Dumont, a white man. Additionally, Dumont has been accused of harassment, and some Ubisoft employees seem unwilling to join the Codename Red team because of his presence.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will be Ubisoft’s next big game and one of the first projects on the Infinity platform, which will host both single-player and multiplayer games, experiences and a variety of standalone modes.
Codename Red will be an open world game, unlike Mirage, which, as previously mentioned, will take place in Japan and will temporarily return to the action-adventure past of the saga. Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will be “more technologically advanced” as well as the beginning of the “third phase”.
