Xbox app on PC: New feature to measure playtime

Microsoft has added a new feature to its Xbox PC app that lets users know how long it will take them to complete a game.

HowLongToBeat is a database of game completion times and is now integrated into the Xbox PC app. Users can see how long their titles take to complete in the “Details” tab.

There are four categories of finishers: main, main + bonus, finisher and all styles. The main story is how long it takes to complete the game, while the main + bonus story is all about completing side quests and other unlockable quests. The finisher is for those who want to complete all missions and all styles are times for all playstyles considered in the rating. These estimates are provided by the HowLongToBeat community, which submits its metrics to estimate runtimes.

With this new feature, Microsoft has also improved the performance of the app. It now starts running 15% faster and adds some tweaks to make it more responsive.

Xbox Game Pass is an offer that lets you play compatible Xbox video games on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet and Windows 10 PC. You must have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to use the app.
