In an interview with Gotham Knights plot and animation executives, narrative director Ann Lemay explained to us that her collaboration with DC was in the name of absolute freedom, so much so that the team was able to go beyond what they had even imagined. .
“As always, we started with the comics, but as the foundation for building something new and exciting. We have four characters if we want ‘new’ again: first we made sure we could do what we had in mind, and then we did everything to show everyone, in-game,” said Lemay.
“During the dialogues, we paid a lot of attention to the presence of their movements and the way they do and say, an attention where collaboration with the film crew also closely concerns the use of voices from some of the actors, the tones and underlying nuances that the protagonists should have. And I have to admit, it was also a lot of fun. !”
The narrative director also clarified what the replacement of characters during the campaign would involve, and how the latter would be told, for the purposes of the plot, always keeping in mind his intention to develop the four protagonists.
“With the four characters we’ve got, we’ve split the script accordingly so each event has the right cast and dialogue, there’s a main storyline that will take the player to predetermined places and situations, and there will be situations where it will shine through. It’s their individuality the most,” he said.
