Playstation5: Continued…

Finding a Spring 2022 PlayStation 5 can still be overwhelming. The shortage of components affecting manufacturers continues and the forecasts for the coming months are not always good.

Hiroki Totoki talked about it via Venture Beat. He said demand is still high and the pandemic will not affect him. At the same time, Sony continues to stock the PS5, but the company’s ability to acquire the necessary components does not allow it to fulfill all orders.

That’s why, when announcing the latest financial results of a fairly good gaming division with rising profits, Sony had to revise its forecasts as follows. The company expects to sell 11.5 million units instead of the current fiscal year of 14.8 million which ends March 31.

Sony is not the only one to suffer

Sony isn’t the only company struggling in the console world. Nintendo expects a production cut of around 20%, while our colleagues at Tokaku expect delivery issues to continue well into 2022, and certainly into early 2023.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer also expects trouble grading his ratings. He said the flea problem was only part of the problem. There are several delays today: sourcing of parts, but also shipping of the finished product to demanding markets.

In short, it is very likely that the situation will not improve in the months to come. If you are looking for a Sony console, do not hesitate to refer to our dedicated article:
